The AHM Steering Committee will be accepting Breakout Session Proposals until COB Wednesday April 15, 2015.

The deadline for Breakout Session Proposals has been extended through Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Please enter each session/poster proposal (including all the information below) into the Forum, as a new topic- HERE.


The AHM Theme: “Integrating geoscience and technology to enable new discoveries: building synergy for open science.”

All Breakout Session proposals will need to include the following information:

  • Name(s) of session lead(s) and presenter(s): NOTE At least one of these should be an EC member (i.e., they need to have an account on the website). Please note whether presenters have committed to attending and presenting.

  • Affiliations with EarthCube committees/teams/funded projects (if any)

  • Title of session

  • Brief description of session including its value for EarthCube members and related geoscience communities

  • Any information about (or for) the target audience.

Please note the following:

Breakout sessions at the All Hands Meeting are designed to give groups with specific interests (technical, scientific, and usually both) an opportunity to do any/all of the following:

  • host a presenter or presenter(s),

  • have a focused discussion on a topic of value to EarthCube,

  • do a hands-on technology and/or science demo with discussion.

  • other

These breakouts also can include working meetings for working groups, teams, or standing committees.

Full breakouts are not Birds Of a Feather (BOF) meetings: the breakouts will need to present a description of the planned activities for the session. Mini-breakouts can be BOFs but they will be given lower priority for breakout slots.

Use these for focused discussion about topics of interest, or single presentations with questions.

SELECTION:

Chosen Sessions will be announced by May 1st. Please note that the selection of sessions includes the need for a broad range of topics and participants.
