HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING FOR EARLY CAREER TRAVEL SUPPORT to the EARTHCUBE ALL HANDS MEETING.

Early career researchers (within five years of having attained a Ph.D, including “All But Dissertation” Ph.D candidates) from all academic institutions, including Universities and Colleges, their departments or science clubs/organizations, as well as State Geological Surveys or other state entities, are invited to apply for internal US travel support to the May 27 - 29, 2015 All Hands Meeting in Washington D.C.:

 

  • Individuals may apply for Full Travel grants, or for Local Expenses grants (hotel and meeting fee).

  • Funding decisions are the prerogative the All Hands Meeting Steering Committee.

 

Please follow the following procedure to apply for a grant:

  • Provide a CV that includes your date (or expected date) of graduation

  • Supply a one (1) page statement that speaks to the way in which your work is aligned with EarthCube program goals (see, for example: EarthCube Past, Present and Future) and how you see yourself contributing to the All Hands Meeting.

  • Please note if you are applying for a Full Travel grant, or a Local Expenses grant.

 

By applying, you agree to:

  • Submit a four-paragraph report highlighting your experiences at the All Hands Meeting within 30 days. This report may be used for engagement and publicity purposes by EarthCube.

  • Participate in an EarthCube governance activity at and after the All Hands Meeting

  • Provide proof of registration and attendance at the All Hands Meeting

  • NOTE: All selected full travel support participants will be expected to take notes or provide other logistical support at breakouts during the All Hands Meeting.

 

Travel/expense  award funds will be provided as reimbursements for actual travel expenses. Original receipts will be required to claim expenses (except for per diem)..
