Title: C4P: Collaboration and Cyberinfrastructure for Paleogeoscience
The EarthCube Research Coordination Network “Collaboration and Cyberinfrastructure for Paleogeosciences” (C4P) advances the role of cyberinfrastructure in unraveling the large-scale, long-term evolution of the Earth-Life system through the study of the geological record.
C4P is engaging a diverse community by facilitating communication and interaction between domain scientists and cyber/computer scientists through webinars, workshops, web-enabled networking.
Workshops on interoperability of paleobiology data systems and computing with geologic time developed recommendations and best practices for the community's priorities in development of standards and capabilities. C4P has compiled a catalog of paleogeoscience resources and is working with the CINERGI Building Block to make sure these resources are discoverable in the EarthCube community. Webinar series on relevant paleogeoscience and other EarthCube projects were held in 2014 and 2015 and are archived as a community resource.
C4P plans to continue fostering its community of practice through identification of networking, coordination, and collaboration among the many existing and nascent C4P-related groups.
